Born as Prince Siddhartha Gautama, Gautama Buddha was believed to live approximately between 563 BCE and 483 BCE. He attained enlightenment at the age of 35 while he was sitting under the Bodhi tree.
From then now, Gautama Buddha was known as "The Perfectly Self-Awakened One".
I studied Buddhism as a subject in school fifteen years ago. However, I admit that I was too young then or rather not ready at that time, to really appreciate or apply Buddha's teachings to my life.
Recently, somehow his name started to appear in the some of the spiritual books that I've been reading. Once again, I chanced upon some of his teachings and this time, they make sense to me. In fact, I began to see that his teachings hold great wisdom and are applicable to our daily lives.
